Course Synopsis: |

Concordia College provides professional instructor led courses to enable you to gain knowledge as a Medical Office Assistant. This program provides students with relevant administrative and high-level technological skills to meet the demands of the current and emerging health care system. Graduates will learn how to carry out the three key and interdependent functions to support the management of an organization: organizing work, workspaces, and workplace environments; processing information; and communicating efficiently. |

Course Requirements: |

High school graduate or equivalent or mature student status (19 years of age and one year out of high school) or passing entrance test and counselor interview. |

Course Objective: |
| |
Students learn how to establish and maintain data management systems to organize electronic and paper records for the medical environment and to produce accurate financial and billing records for the medical environment within a specified time frame by compiling information and using appropriate software.
Through this program, students will acquire administration skills including keyboarding, medical billing, records collection management, fluency in medical terminology and its construction and a general background in anatomy and physiology. Students become familiar with the procedures required to operate a medical office and gain the skills in accurate transcription of a wide range of medical data. |
